What better use for your Toyota 4Runner than a great day trip? If you want to get away from it all for a few hours, there are some great spots for day trips out of Muncie, IN that you should know about.

Kings Island

Kings Island is a great amusement and water park with awesome roller coasters, dinosaur exhibits. wave pool, and lots more. It’s located at 6300 Kings Island Dr in Mason, OH. For 50 years, Kings Island has been one of the favorite family destinations in the Midwest. They often have live entertainment, too. There will definitely be something for everyone here.

Their great rides include the Aruba Tuba, the Backlot Stunt Coaster, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, and Breakers Bay or Castaway Cove, where your family can splash to their hearts’ content. Breakers Bay is perfect for older ones, while Castaway Cove is specifically made to cater to the littlest. Ride together at the Dodgem cars, let the littlest family members have a great time at Charlie Brown’s Wind Up, and have some serious adult fun on the Diamondback roller coaster.

Cincinnati Art Museum

The art museum is at 935 Eden Park Dr in Cincy, and it features more than 67,000 works of art representing more than six millennia of human achievement. The museum sits in gorgeous parkland by Mirror Lake, and it’s as much fun to wander the grounds as to visit the gorgeous museum.

The museum has many standing exhibits, regularly rotating visiting exhibits, and lots of national and international exhibitions, art-related programs, special events, and activities that even children can participate in. The museum is always free to visit, for all ages. There are places to charge your devices near Gallery 151, a beautiful courtyard to sit in to take a break, and one of the coolest gift shops you’ll ever visit.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Head over to 3000 N Meridian St in Indy to visit one of the coolest interactive kids’ museums you’ll ever see. There’s a carousel, lots of science labs for learning, a planetarium, daily shows and programs, live theater, and both indoor and outdoor exhibits (though the outdoor ones are only open from March through November due to the weather).

Some of the super cool exhibits include All Aboard!, which takes you back to the 1890s, when Indiana had the world’s steepest railway grade. At the Playscape, the kids can touch and manipulate anything, discovering new sights and sounds along the way. At Beyond Spaceship earth, kids will learn about the International Space Station and what it takes to be an astronaut, while at Take Me There, they’ll get to discover the culture of a whole other country (for Spring 2022, it’s Greece!). There’s a lot more, including the Dinosphere, where kids get to immerse themselves in the world of these fantastic creatures.

These are just a few great places to hop in the Toyota and take the family. To keep your Toyota running smooth for all your adventures, visit us at Toyota of Muncie today!
