On the TRD PreRunner trim, the i-FORCE 2.4L turbocharged engine can achieve 278 horsepower and 317 lb/ft of torque. There's also a i-FORCE MAX 2.4L turbocharged hybrid powertrain, which offers even more fuel efficiency by working with an electric motor, achieving 326 horsepower and 465 lb/ft of torque.
Performance
Toyota has upgraded the Tundra's suspension setup to coil springs for smoother rides, while it has taken handling up a notch with rack-and-pinion steering. The new Tundra also offers various drive modes, such as Normal, Sport, and Eco, to meet the diverse needs of everyday driving. The truck also provides a respectable fuel economy and backs it up with remarkable towing capabilities of up to 12,000 pounds.
