As gasoline prices keep increasing and the environment keeps getting more and more polluted, drivers near Indianapolis, IN are looking for alternatives to gasoline. Green cars are far from a new concept, but they’re slowly but surely gaining in popularity, largely thanks to the efforts from the Toyota brand. The automaker is one of the originators when it comes to green car technology, as the Toyota Prius was one of the first hybrid cars and continues to be a leader in the segment. Here at Toyota of Muncie, we understand that green cars can be confusing, so we’re happy to answer any questions about them.
What is a Green Car?
A broad definition of a green car is that it is a car that is more environmentally friendly than a conventional car. Instead of using environmentally-unfriendly and inefficient fossil fuels and combustion engines, green cars use alternative means to power their engines. They often use less petroleum than conventional cars or use renewable energy sources to fuel their engines. There are a few different types of green cars, including electric cars, hybrid cars, hydrogen cars, and solar cars, all of which use slightly different ways to move forward.
What Types of Green Cars Do We Sell?
One of the best-selling Toyota cars of all-time, the Toyota Prius, is a hybrid green car. The new 2017 Toyota Prius is now available at our dealership, and this plug-in hybrid is the most efficient iteration of the four-door sedan to date. If you’re shopping for a green SUV, check out the 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which is new for 2017 and actually features slightly faster acceleration than the gasoline version of the Toyota RAV4.
