Toyota Team Members Celebrate 25 Years in Kentucky

A company that can foster a sense of family within its daily operations achieves a certain mark of success. One that can do so within the context of 6,600 workers and a 500,000 annual vehicle output achieves something even greater. Such is the case with the high-functioning Toyota facility in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Originally founded in 1986, the Kentucky automotive arm is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Toyota of Muncie would like to take a minute to tell you what all the company has to celebrate. In addition to high employee and production volumes, Toyota has displayed remarkable endurance. Through natural disasters and a nation-wide recession, the automaker kept all of its team members on board. Rick Hesterberg, a Toyota spokesman, says, "Our approach is very different than what you think of when companies have a downturn, but we kept our doors open."1

In order to "keep doors open," it's vital that all employees project a good attitude, even in the hardest of times. Susan Whitney, a group leader for Body Operations, is a testimony to the dedication and brand loyalty that workers retain. She has happily stayed with the Kentucky Toyota factory since the beginning and has done so despite the hour-long roundtrip commute she must make daily.

Banking on the solid past and stable present, Toyota of Muncie thinks Toyota will continue to deliver success for the future. While we may not have the same number of employees as Georgetown's operation, you'll find that every Toyota expert at Toyota of Muncie is just as dedicated to serving the company and the community. If you have any questions at all or would simply like to browse our selection of new Toyota models, visit us at 3311 N Nebo Muncie, IN 47304. We look forward to speaking with you!
